AI assistant & MCP

Switch on the assistant and connect Claude and other apps.

The assistant in the admin

Under Settings → AI Assistant, choose a provider and a model and save an API key. People whose role has the "Use the AI assistant" permission get a chat in the corner of the admin (or press Ctrl+Shift+K). It can read and change content with exactly their permissions.

Claude and other apps, over MCP

Aurora is an MCP server. In Claude, add a custom connector with your site's MCP address; Claude signs you in to Aurora and asks you to approve. No keys to copy.

Plain text
https://your-site.example/mcp
The address to give Claude Desktop, claude.ai or any MCP client.

For a local agent, run the server over standard input and output:

~ Terminal
$ php artisan mcp:start cms

What they can do

Read the site and its block catalogue, create and update pages, add, move and remove blocks, restore revisions, manage menus, translate pages and upload images. Each call is checked against the person's role and written to the AI activity log, with a revision to undo it.

Nobody gets more power by asking a machine

An author's assistant can draft pages and send them for review. Only an editor's can publish.
